Three Vehicles

Police report a three-vehicle accident near 80 South Main Street about 3 pm April 28.

The accident involved motorist Charles Kennerly, 50, of Stamford, who was driving a 2005 Nissan pickup truck; motorist Patricia Lutnes, 71, of 13 Park lane, who was driving a 1997 Saturn SL-2 sedan; and motorist David Stuart, 28, of Milford, who was driving a 2001 Ford Econoline van, police report.

In the accident, the Ford stopped for traffic in front of it and was struck from behind by the Saturn, after which the Saturn was struck from behind by the Nissan, police said.

Police said Lutnes received injuries in the accident. Police said they issued Lutnes a written warning and gave Kennerly a verbal warning.

Cemetery Theft

Police report that sometime between April 24 and May 1, someone stole 37 copper floral display vases from Resurrection Cemetery on South Main Street. The theft represents fourth degree larceny, which reflects a loss in the range of $500 to $1,000. Police are investigating and ask with knowledge of the crime to contact them at 426-5841.

Two Charges

At about 11 am on May 4, motorist Laurie Wright, 38, of 76 Bankside Trail was detected driving 46 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone on Riverside Road, police said. Police charged Wright with traveling too fast and with driving while under suspension. Police released Wright on a promise to appear in court on May 12.

Pontiac Off Road

Motorist Rosemary Besse, 57, of 9 Appleblossom Lane, who was driving a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am northward on South Main Street about 3:37 pm May 4, lost control of the vehicle, jumped a curb and then struck the front of the restaurant known as King’s Breaknnfast and Lunch at 271 South Main Street, police said. The restaurant was closed for business at the time, police said.

Besse was transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries, police report. Botsford firefighters responded to the accident. Police said they issued Besse an infraction ticket for failure to drive in the proper lane.
