Kevin Carney: âMy Uncle Kevin served in the military during the Korean War, but I donât think he went overseas. He was worried a lot about going over, though.â
William Duffy: âI served in the military during the Vietnam era. I was in the Navy, worked with the submarines. They have reunions every year, but Iâm never able to go. If Veteransâ Day ever fell on a Sunday, weâd talk about it at the Lutheran church I attended in Redding. The veterans would stand up and tell their stories.â
Dawn Karp: âMy grandfather served during World War II. In fact, there is a picture of him with Shirley Temple, who was in Europe at the time entertaining the troops. I didnât even know about it until I was going through old pictures one day!â
