June 11: Block Island, Rhode Island. Take a one-hour cruise from New London to Old Harbor. Go biking hiking, relax on the beach or watch the yachts maneuver and a variety of shops. Cost is $62 per person. Bus leaves the Newtown Middle School at 9:15 am and returns approximately 10 pm.
July 24: Take a trip to All-You-Can-Eat-Lobster and casino bonus at the Mohegan Sun. Cost is $75 per person. Bus leaves the Newtown Middle School at 10 am and returns approximately 9:30 pm.
August 20: Take a summer cruise on Narragansett Bay. Round trip from Warren to Newport, Rhode Island. Bus leaves the Newtown Middle School at 7 am and returns approximately 8:30 pm. Cost is $65 per person.

Summer Day Camp at Treadwell and Dickinson Park. Day camp fees are $170 for one, two-week session, $320 for two, two-week sessions and $450 for three, two-week sessions. Summer Day Camp is available for children four years old (by June 30, 2005) through sixth grade. A copy of a birth certificate is required with tiny tots registrations. There is a new site director to Dickinson and a new site director for Treadwell Park. Camp runs from July 5 to August 12. You can also sign up for one week, however this is only taken two weeks prior to start of a session. The fee for one week is $95. Each camper will receive a T- shirt.
Middle School Camp at Newtown Middle School. It runs from July 5 to July 29. Some exciting trips planned for this camp ⦠such as Checkered Flag Raceway, where kids can go kart racing. Watch out for paintball, biking, caving, rock climbing and more. The fee for the entire month of July is $800. Sign up for all four weeks or pick a week you prefer (prices vary from week to week). The week of July 5 to July 8 is $205; July 11 to July 15 is $255, July 18 to July 22 is $215 and July 25 to July 29 is $225. For detail of trips check out the website.
Summer Sports Camps â choose from baseball, tennis, softball, youth golf lessons, Rising Star Basketball League, lacrosse, golf camp, karate, soccer, and more. New this year for ages 11-14 years old is a Summer Flag Football camp (choose from a variety of dates, beginning the week of July 5-8; July 11-15; July 18-22; and July 25-29. The times are from 8:30 am to 10:30 am or 10:45 am to 12:45 pm. The fee is $109.00 per session).

The 30th annual Rooster Run/Walk will be held Saturday, June 4, at the Newtown Middle School. Race starts at 8:30 am sharp. Pre-registration fee is $15 and the day of the race is $18. The race has a 5K course and the proceeds benefit the Newtown Scholarship Association.
