Sporting Goods For Good Sports

Hartford — Summer camp starts on June 30 at Camp CONNRI, a summer residential camp for children ages 7 to 11.

Captain Richard Lopez, camp director for The Salvation Army, says that they still need sporting goods to properly equip the camp for more than 1,000 children who will come to the Ashford facility.

“Summer camps are a critical part of a child’s growing up, but they are expensive to run. We’ve been very fortunate to receive donations for our general operation of the camp and to provide ‘camperships’ to children, but we still need supplies and equipment to make the camping experience complete,” said Captain Lopez.

Donations of new basketballs, baseball equipment, recreational balls, badminton, or golfing equipment are needed. Donations may be made by calling Kristin at 860-543-8406, ext 141.
