Laura Amodeo, a junior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, was selected to receive an undergraduate research fellowship from The Connecticut Business and Industry Association, in partnership with Pfizer Global Research and Development in Groton. Laura was one of 21 college students selected to participate in the fellowship, which provides training support to help develop independent research skills necessary for successful careers in the pharmaceutical research industry. The students were chosen for their good academic records, an enthusiasm for laboratory science, and interest in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

John Anthony Pantan graduated magna cum laude from the Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford with a bachelor of music degree in music education with a concentration on performance. John is a trumpet player and was a member of the Hartt Symphony Orchestra, which performed in many area concerts including the Bushnell Auditorium in Hartford. In September he will pursue a master’s degree at Western Connecticut State University.

The University of Vermont awarded degrees to the following local students on May 22: Kaitlin Dunseith received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. Allison Grant received a bachelor of arts degree in history. Evan Graves received a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. Mark Werbeck received a bachelor of science degree in business administration. Todd Winner received a bachelor of arts degree in environmental studies.

Colgate University has named Scott DeRoo to the Dean’s List for the spring semester. Scott is a member of the track and cross country teams at Colgate. He is studying molecular biology.

Central Connecticut State University named Brea Passero, Benjamin Nagy, and Colleen Gugino from Newtown and Matthew Pellicone from Sandy Hook to the Dean’s List for the spring semester.

Quinnipiac University named the following students to the Dean’s List for the spring semester: Lauren Bonacci, Jennifer Haghpanah, Stanley Kallivrousis, Stephanie Logan, Kimberly Nash, and Gregory Williams.

Tim Fagan  and Jacob Gotliboski have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Haven for the spring semester.

Jennifer Dahlgard, a financial services major, has been named to the Dean’s List at Roger Williams University for the spring semester.

The College of Saint Rose has named Jennifer Dunseith to the Dean’s List for the spring semester.

Jessica Marie Schmalz has been named as an honor student for the spring semester at Hollins University.

Erin J. Dennen of Sandy Hook has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Saint Michael’s College. She is a business administration major.

Katherine Benson has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Rochester Institute of Technology. Katherine is studying graphic media.

Adam Moskowitz has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Adam is a computer science major. Sandy Hook resident Branden Roumanis, a computer science major, has been named to the Dean’s List at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
