Moving Violations

About 6:38 am August 25, police saw motorist Glen Wyman, 38, of Danbury driving eastward on Berkshire Road in Sandy Hook, after which they stopped him to investigate.

Police arrested Wyman on charges of driving while under suspension and driving an unregistered vehicle. After arrest processing, police freed Wyman on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court for a September 13 arraignment.

South Main Collision

Motorist Shannon Solheim, 22, of 11 Harvest Common Road was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier sedan southward on South Main Street, near Borough Lane, on the night of August 23, when the vehicle collided with a deer, killing the animal, police report.

Solheim was not injured. Police took no enforcement.

GMC Vs Buick

About 4:30 pm August 24, a 2003 Buick Rendezvous driven by Leisha Young, 29, of Bridgeport was waiting on southbound South Main Street to make a left turn into a gas station driveway at 151 South Main Street, police said.

 Southbound motorist Wilson Francisco Perez, 27, of Bridgeport, who was driving a 1995 GMC van, struck the Buick from behind, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Perez a written warning for following too closely.

DUI Arrest

About 3:30 pm August 24, motorist Gerard Petit, 52, of Brookfield, who was driving a Saab on Hawleyville Road, near Hawleyville Deli, drove into the rear end of a moving pickup truck, police report.

After the crash, in which there were no injuries, Petit drove away from the accident in the damaged Saab, police said.

Responding to the incident, police said they located Petit in the parking lot of Taunton Wine & Liquor at 147 Mt Pleasant Road, where they arrested him on charges of driving under the influence, evading responsibility, and driving without carrying proof of automotive insurance.

After arrest processing, police released Petit on $50 bail for court arraignment on September 8.

Traffic Signal

On August 24, police arrested motorist Gary Hayek, Jr, 37, of Stamford for allegedly driving through a red traffic signal and for driving while under suspension. After processing Hayek’s arrest, police released him on a written promise to appear in Danbury Superior Court on September 7 for arraignment on the charges.
