Guys , Dolls, And A Floating Game  At Performing Arts Opener

FAIRFIELD – The musical Guys and Dolls, which has enchanted scores of theatergoers for decades, kicks off the theater season on October 15 at The Center for the Performing Arts at Sacred Heart University.

Guys and Dolls, based on a story and characters by author Damon Runyon, with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, will be directed by Maureen Hamill, with musical direction by Charles Wade.

Actress Mary Richards portrays Sarah Brown, the “mission doll” out to reform the wicked in Times Square. Michael Allen Gray plays smooth gambler Sky Masterson who winds up falling in love with Sarah after trying to win her on a bet.

Nightclub performer Miss Adelaide is played by Randye Kaye and Nathan Detroit, Adelaide’s fiancé of 14 years who is forever seeking new locations for his floating craps game, is portrayed by Robert S. Fallon.

The romantic comedy, which takes audiences from Times Square to Cuba, features such unforgettable musical numbers as “I’ll Know,” “If I Were A Bell,” “Luck Be A Lady,” “Sue Me,” “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ The Boat,” “Marry The Man Today,” “A Bushel And A Peck,” and more.

Performances for Guys and Dolls, which runs through October 24, are at 8 pm Friday and Saturday evenings, and at 3 pm Sunday afternoons.
