Retired Office Manager
Ruth Joy Wilson, 80, of Wallingford, formerly a resident of Oronoque in Stratford for 30 years, died August 6 at Midstate Hospital, Meriden. Born on October 21, 1924, she was the daughter of Joseph and Emma Erbs Wilson, who came from the German section of New York City at the turn of the last century.
 Survivors include one nephew, Richard Wilson and family of the Sandy Hook section of Newtown; and her dear friends, the Arthur Moran family. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Wilson.
She was a retired office manager for the ladiesâ apparel at Warnaco for more than 20 years. She was an active member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Stratford and the past treasurer of the church and the Golden Rooster Shop. She was also a member of the altar guild, the vestry, the worship commission of the church, and was active with the Meals on Wheels program in town.
She traveled extensively with her many friends to China, Israel, and all of Europe. She enjoyed her annual ski trips and loved to attend the summer concert series at Tanglewood.
A funeral service was held on August 22 in the Christ Episcopal Church, Stratford, with the Rev Robert Stuhlmann, rector, officiating. Burial was in Mt Grove cemetery.
