Newcomers & Neighbors Planning Kick-Off Celebration

The Newtown Newcomers & Neighbors Club will officially open their fall season on Friday, September 9.

The club’s Annual Kick-Off Celebration will be held in The Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street. All residents of Newtown, whether new or longtime, are invited to the event, which will run from 7 until 9 pm.

The Kick-Off traditionally showcases all of the Newcomers and Neighbors Club activities from Restaurant Reviewers and Mom’s Night Out to book clubs and playgroups. Visitors will be invited to ask questions, perhaps even sign up and get started on getting out, having fun and making friends.

There will be food and beverages and since this is an all-ages gathering there will also be balloons and face painting for the children and door prizes for the adults.

All Newtown residents are eligible to become members.

“It’s not only a good way for new residents but also those with lifestyle changes to make some new friends,” says Layne Lescault, the club’s publicity chairman. “And the club hopes that all existing members will drop by and lend a friendly smile and share their experiences with everyone.”
