Currituck Road

At about 11:30 am September 26, police stopped motorist John Niemiera, 41, of New Milford on Currituck Road to investigate.

Police said they charged Niemiera with driving an unregistered vehicle and with driving while under suspension. After processing the arrest, police released Niemiera on a written promise to appear October 4 in Danbury Superior Court.

Nissan Vs BMW

A two-car accident occurred at the intersection of Schoolhouse Hill Road and Main Street about 3 pm September 26.

Motorist Hariklia Blowes, 57, of Stamford, who was driving a 1993 Nissan Sentra westward on Schoolhouse Hill Road, stopped at a stop sign and was waiting to make a left turn onto southbound Main Street, police said.

At that time, motorist Joseph Cillizza, 69, of Southbury was driving a 2000 BMW 740-IL sedan northward on Main Street, police said.

As the Nissan attempted to make the turn, the vehicles collided.

There were no injuries. Police issued Blowes an infraction ticket for failure to grant the right of way at a stop sign.
