Connecticutâs Construction Career Program
WALLINGFORD â Connecticutâs Department of Transportation, UConnâs Transportation Institute, the Federal Highway Administration, Connecticut Asphalt and Aggregate Producers Association, the various skilled trade unions, and the members of the Connecticut Construction Industries Association are sponsoring an opportunity for high school students to explore the diverse career opportunities relating to the commercial construction industry.
Skilled trades people will demonstrate crafts such as bricklaying, concrete finishing, welding, plumbing, electrical installation, materials testing, and pipe laying. There will be exhibits displaying the newest computer technology used in planning, designing, and constructing highways, bridges, and buildings.
This event will be presented on two consecutive days, October 4 and 5, at Mountainside in Wallingford. The Construction Career Program will begin each day at 8:30 am and end at 12:30 pm. For more information visit www.ctuconn.edu/constructioncareerday2.htm or call 860-529-6855.
