Gas Station
Gas Station
At 2:36 am on March 5, police were notified of a burglary alarm occurring at the Citgo gas station/convenience store at 151 South Main Street, so they responded to the scene.
After arriving, police determined that someone had punched out the lock on the southern door of the building and entered the structure, after which they stole an unspecified number of cigarettes from the premises.
Police said the break-in occurred sometime during the period from 2:36 to 2:39 am.
Police ask anyone who was in that area at that time and noticed anything suspicious there to contact Officer Steven Borges, who is investigating the case.
Berkshire Road
Police report a motor vehicle accident that occurred about 12:15 pm March 6 on Berkshire Road.
The incident involved three motorists, police said. They are Cindy Lee Pekar, 46, of West Haven, who was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber; motorist Robert Mordente, 48, of New Milford, who was driving a 2007 Nissan Pathfinder, and motorist Matthew Cleveland, 19, of Trumbull, who was driving a 1998 Jeep Wrangler, police said.
There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned both Pekar and Mordente for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Greenleaf Farms
Late on the night of March 15, police responded to a complaint concerning a suspicious vehicle in the area of Greenleaf Farms Road.
After an investigation, police charged motorist Chris Capone, 23, of 16 Brookwood Drive with driving with a suspended license. Police released Capone on a written promise to appear in court on April 2.
Police said they then turned over Capone to Weston police who wanted him on an arrest warrant.
Vandalism
On the night of March 15 and morning of March 16, someone removed and damaged several residential mailboxes in the area Bresson Farm Road and Yogananda Street, police said. Someone also placed a large rock in the middle of Bresson Farm Road.
Police ask anyone with information about the incident to contact investigating Officer Matthew Wood at the police station at 426-5841.
Burglary/Larceny
Sometime between 10 am and 7 pm on March 7, someone committed a burglary and larceny at a Currituck Road home, illegally entering the building and stealing items from the premises, police said. The property is on Currituck Road, near its intersection with Blakeslee Drive. Police ask anyone with information on the crime to contact them at 426-5841.
Ford Vs Deer
About 8:20 am March 16, motorist Chelsey Marsalisi, 19, of 3 King Street was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang southward on The Boulevard, when a deer ran in front of the auto, resulting in a collision, police said. The deer then ran off. Marsalisi was not injured. Police took no enforcement.
Brushy Hill Road
Police said that motorist Emily Johnson, 20, of 25 Cedar Hill Road was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee northward on Brushy Hill Road about 11:23 pm March 12, when she failed to negotiate a curve in the road and then collided with a stone wall and a tree. A section of the tree fell onto the road, after which it was removed.
Johnson was not injured in the accident, police said. Police said Johnson made a restricted turn.
South Main Crash
About 12:47 pm March 14, motorist James McDonnell, 47, of 72 Jeremiah Road, who was driving a 2001 Land Rover SUV, was attempting to make a left turn from a driveway at 137 South Main Street onto southbound South Main Street, police said.
At that time, motorist Laura Matos, 42, of 9 Glenmor Drive was driving a 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan southward on South Main Street, police said.
The two vehicles collided. There were no injuries. Police issued McDonnell an infraction for failure to grant the right of way.

Berkshire Road
About 3:16 pm March 14, motorist Emre Akter, 33, of Derby, who was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am eastward on Berkshire Road, was slowing for traffic conditions when the Pontiac was struck from behind by eastbound motorist Danielle Sintay, 22, of North Haven, who was driving a 2002 Honda Civic, police said. Police said they issued Sintay a written warning for following too closely.
DUI Charge
Police report they were dispatched to a Mt Pleasant Road address about 1:30 pm March 14 on a report of an intoxicated driver in that area,
Police said they located the described vehicle and investigated, charging its driver, Gabriele Sloan, 47, of Ojai, Calif., with driving under the influence.
After processing the case, police released Sloan on $250 bail for a March 27 court appearance.
Moving Violations
During a traffic enforcement project on Flat Swamp Road about 2:23 pm March 15, police said they stopped motorist Luis Munguia, 23, of Bridgeport on Flat Swamp Road. After investigating, police charged Munguia with traveling too fast and with driving while under suspension. After $400 bail was posted, Munguia was released from custody for an April 1 court appearance.
High Speed
State police said they measured motorist Justin Rattner, 21, of Ridgewood, N.J., driving 105 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone on eastbound Interstate 84, west of Exit 10, about 1:05 am March 17. State police charged Rattner with reckless driving. They released him on $500 bail for a March 31 court appearance.

Youthful Offender
Police report that they arrested a 17-year-old girl at Newtown High School on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on the morning of March 13, after she was found to be in possession of a pipe used to smoke marijuana.
After processing, police released the girl into the custody of her father. The girl was released on a written promise to appear March 28 in Danbury Youthful Offender Court to answer the charges. State law shields the identities of people under age 18 who are charged with crimes.
DUI Case
Police report they spotted motorist Andrew Rudolph, 22, of 165 Brushy Hill Road driving 40 miles per hour in a posted 25-mph zone on Glover Avenue about 12:47 am March 18, so they stopped him to investigate.
After giving Rudolph field sobriety tests, police charged him with driving under the influence and with traveling too fast.
Police said they released Rudolph on $100 bail for an April 2 court appearance.
Burglary Charges
Police report that at about 6 pm March 17, they received a complaint about a theft having occurred at a Botsford Hill Road residence, so they went there to investigate.
Police said an investigation determined that Martin Green, 42, of 43-B Botsford Hill Road, had allegedly broken into two residences on that street and had stolen jewelry, watches, and a passport, as well as having attempted to steal a computer.
Police arrested Green on two counts of third-degree burglary, as well as one count each of third-degree larceny, criminal attempt to commit fourth-degree larceny, second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree criminal mischief, and third-degree criminal trespassing.
Police held Green on $20,000 bail for a March 18 arraignment on the charges in Danbury Superior Court.
Icy Patch
About 7:30 am March 9, motorist Mauricio Martinez, 31, of 25 South Main Street was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer southward near 162 Poverty Hollow Road, when he drove over an icy patch of pavement and skidded to the right, striking a stone wall and tree, police said.
Martinez was not injured. Police said they issued him an infraction for driving without a license and for traveling too fast for conditions.
Three Vehicles
Police report a three-vehicle accident about 5:53 pm March 17 near 31 Berkshire Road.
Westbound motorist Andrew Perna, 38, of Danbury, who was driving a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup truck, stopped for traffic conditions, after which westbound motorist Robert Levin, 53, of Brookfield, who was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, stopped behind the Ford F-250, police said.
Westbound motorist Martin Amidon, 28, of 3½ Glover Avenue, who was driving a 1990 Ford Crown Victoria, then struck the rear end of the Cobalt, pushing the Cobalt into the rear end of the F-250, police said.
Levin reported neck pain, but refused medical attention after ambulance volunteers arrived at the scene, police said. Sandy Hook firefighters went to the accident.
Police said they issued Amidon an infraction for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.
Warrant
After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Bryan A. Novella, 23, of 59 Bear Hills Road went to the police station on the afternoon of March 19, and was charged with failure to maintain automotive insurance, police said.
Police said the charge stems from a February motor vehicle accident that occurred on Route 25. Police released Novella on a written promise to appear April 3 in Danbury Superior Court.
Damaged Mercedes
Police report that the driver of a 2004 Mercedes-Benz E-Class station wagon, which was parked unoccupied in the lot at Sand Hill Plaza at 228 South Main Street, returned to the vehicle about 10:40 am March 16 and found that another vehicle had damaged the auto, hitting a fender and a bumper.
Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the identity of the offending driver to contact Officer Todd Dingee at 426-5841.
