To the Editor:

As we approach Election Day on Nov 4th, I wanted to take a moment to let my neighbors know about the candidate that I am supporting. For those that may not be aware, Kim Fawcett is running for the State Senate seat that is being vacated by John McKinney. I am a registered Republican but will find it quite easy to cast my vote for this independent minded Democrat. Kim has been a strong supporter of hunting while being a leader in enacting sensible solutions on firearms.  Kim Fawcett not only voted in favor of the CT's gun safety legislation but worked for its successful bipartisan outcome.  I have watched Kim repeatedly filter unproductive distractions and focus her attention on practical solutions. 

Kim Fawcett possesses a strong business sense and is a fiscally responsible legislator.  As small business owner I am acutely aware of the burdens of running a successful business in CT.  Kim knows that local businesses compete only when our state spends prudently and minimizes unnecessary burdens.

Over the years, I have asked many political candidates to explain their position on a wide range of issues. It is always frustrating to hear answers that dance around issues.  Kim is unequivocal when answering questions. She ability to lead while maintaining her common sense approach on issues is refreshing.  She will be a strong leader representing Newtown as our State Senator
