Church Announces
New Cultural Outreach Initiatives
The Guiding Light Interdenominational Church, Inc., which meets at Edmond Town Hall in Newtown, is beginning cultural artistic outreach of music and dance. This is an ecumenical effort involving children as young as five years old, teens and adults of all ages.
Church membership is not a requirement for participation and there are no fees associated with involvement with any of these endeavors.
The effort, says Pastor Ernestine Urquhart, is designed to bring both joy and peace to the hearts of Godâs people and it is a way to provide constructive, community service oriented opportunity for the youth.
In addition to participants, the church also needs volunteer instructors who love to teach and share their gift with others. Teachers can be a beginner or gifted musician.
Outreach projects include the following:
*A Community Choir, with groups for children ages 5-12 and another for young people ages 13 and older;
*An Orchestra, featuring youths and adults who play any kind of musical instrument; and
*A Stomp and Stroller Dance Troupe, which is in need of participants and instructors.
Any interested individuals should contact Pastor Urquhart at 426-4338.
