WestConn Joins With Red Cross To Host Youth Conference

DANBURY — Western Connecticut State University will join the 100th anniversary celebration for the American Red Cross of Western Connecticut (ARCWC) by partnering with the organization to host a free, daylong International Services Youth Conference on Wednesday, March 22, on the WestConn Midtown campus, 181 White Street.

“Protecting Human Dignity” will be the theme of the event geared to students in middle school and high school, who will learn about International Humanitarian Law. The ARCWC has designed the conference to increase awareness among students about the need for humanity, even in the midst of war.

Students who wish to attend the conference must apply. Local Red Cross chapters will select the students who will attend from the applications they receive by Monday, February 27.

Registration forms may be obtained by calling 792-8200, or by visiting the website at rsvp.arc.western.ct@snet.net. For more information call ARCWC at 792-8200 or the WestConn Office of University Relations at 837-8486.
