George J. Gleason, 93, husband of the late Gay (Readey) Gleason of Sandy Hook, died February 27 at his home. He was born in Scranton, Penn., May 4, 1912, a son of  Stanley and Hannah Gleason.

Mr Gleason was a quality control engineer for the Burndy Corporation in Bethel until his retirement in 1977. He had been a local resident since 1986.

Mr Gleason is survived by two sons, G. Harvey Gleason of Newtown and Robert G. Gleason of Inverness, Fla.; a sister, Lois Equals of Beaver, Penn.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services for the family will be held Friday, March 3, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
