Here are some facts:

MoveOn Attack: Congresswoman Nancy Johnson “voted against bills that would have penalized those companies for price gouging.” MoveOn.org Attack Ad, 4/3/2006

Fact: Nancy Johnson voted to penalize oil companies for price-gouging, creating the first-ever federal policy. (HR 3893, Roll Call 519, 10/7/2005).

Fact: Johnson co-sponsored the Gasoline Price-Gouging Act of 2005, which gives the Federal Trade Commission strong investigative authority over oil price-gouging during natural disasters and the ability to impose penalties (HR 3782, 9/20/2005).

MoveOn Attack: Congresswoman Johnson is “protecting oil company profits while we pay more at the pump.” MoveOn.org Attack Ad, 4/3/2006.

Fact: Johnson co-authored legislation to ban drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, opposing the industry’s top priority (HR 567, 2/2/05).

Fact: Nancy Johnson sponsored legislation to encourage development of alternative energies, such as clean, efficient fuel cells, which was included and passed into law as part of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (HR 1397, 3/17/05, HR 6 Subtitle C Sec. 1337, P.L. 109-58).

Mr Isgut’s facts come from the MoveOn website. All the facts represented here may be referenced in the United States Library of Congress. I trust that an overwhelming majority of the voters agree; the United States Library of Congress is a credible source of the truth.

Fact: MoveOn are “Distorters of the truth” and remain a despicable political organization.

Knowledge is power!

Sincerely,

Chuck Stofko
