James M. Matern

 

James M. Matern, son of Rick and Ruth Matern of Morris and grandson of Mary Matern of Appleblossom Lane, Newtown, graduated on May 13 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, magna cum laude, with a degree in Biochemistry and Biophysics. He will be attending the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in the fall to pursue a career in medicine.

Kari Fisher, daughter of Bonnie and Rob Fisher of Willow Brook Lane, Newtown, was awarded a Heritage Scholarship, a half-tuition award which is renewable for four years if the student achieves and maintains a stipulated grade point average. Miss Fisher is a student at Denison University in Granville, OH.

Kathleen Doyle of 46 Horseshoe Ridge Road, Sandy Hook, was recently named to Ithaca College Dean’s List for the spring 2000 semester. Ithaca College is located in Ithaca, N.Y.
