William Michael DeMeo, 73, of Newtown, formerly of Westport, beloved husband of Janet Knapp DeMeo, died May 2. Mr DeMeo was born on January 26, 1933, in Norwalk, and was the son of Luco and Rose DeMeo.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 50 years, Janet, include two daughters, Ann Meehan of Newtown and her husband, Michael, and Teri Latulipe of Shelton; a son, Billy DeMeo, Jr, of Fairfield and his wife, Julia; eight cherished grandchildren, Tommy and Allison Latulipe, Matthew, Mark, Lori, and Julie Meehan, and Kelly and Willie DeMeo. Mr DeMeo is also survived by his sister, Lucille White; and a nephew. He was predeceased by a son-in-law, Thomas Latulipe.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for many years and a longtime respected usher at St Rose of Lima. Mr DeMeo retired from the Town of Westport and worked at Stew Leonardâs Norwalk for several years before retiring from the work force.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral Friday, May 5, at 9:30 am, from the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, Westport, and at 10 am at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Avenue, Westport, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Mr DeMeo will be laid to rest at Willowbrook Cemetery, 395 North Main Street in Westport. The family was scheduled to receive friends in the funeral home Thursday, May 4, from 4 to 8 pm.
