Pegasus Riders Enjoy Annual Show

The rain stopped just long enough for Pegasus Therapeutic Riding to hold its 25th annual horse show on Sunday, May 21, at Coker Farm in Bedford, New York (offered for the day by Judy and Max Richter). A record number of 100 riders and 100 volunteers – with 25 very special horses shipped in from many Pegasus chapters – participated. Pegasus provides the joys and benefits of therapeutic riding to hundreds of special needs children and adults at seven chapters in Connecticut, including Corgi Hollow Farm in Newtown. Top left, Kennedy Snyder – dressed as a French chef – is presented with a medal by horse show chairwoman Nicole Russo. Snyder rode Tumbleweed in the show and was accompanied by sidewalkers who were dressed as salt and pepper shakers. The leader, dressed as a spoon, is Newtown High School student Lucy Manos. Top right, Stephanie Williamson is presented with the annual Robert Stein Outstanding Rider Award by Newtown resident Betsy Medinger in memory of her father. Stephanie rode Whisper, a loan from the New Canaan Mounted Troop, and was accompanied by her instructor AJ Shelton.
