10,000 Years Of CT’s

Native American History

BROOKFIELD — Brookfield Museum and Historical Society will host a lecture and slide show, “10,000 Years of Native American History in Connecticut,” by John Pawloski, on Wednesday, June 22.

The presentation will be made at the museum, located at the intersection of Routes 25 and 133 in Brookfield Center. It will begin at 7:30 pm.

Mr Pawloski, an earth and life science teacher for 33 years in the New Milford public school system, also worked for the Connecticut Archaeological Survey group as a field archaeologists during the summer months. A freelance photographer, his photographs have appeared in many national publications including Time-Life Books, Woman’s Day, Glamour and numerous textbooks.

His many awards include the Russell Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions to Archaeology and the Governor’s Environmental Education Award.

He is presently president of the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association Museum in Kent and director of the Connecticut Museum on Mining and Mineral Science.

Mr Pawloski’s lecture will explore the history on Native Americans from their origins in Connecticut through the Colonial period. Artifacts of Native American culture will also be on display.

Admission is free and following the program complimentary refreshments will be served.
