Shouldn't Have To Steer Clear Of Boats On The Road
Shouldnât Have To Steer Clear Of Boats On The Road
To the Editor:
This is for all the recreational and serious boaters out there in town. As I was traveling along Hanover Road this evening (September 2), someone was heading the other direction after having left either the Pond Brook boat launch or Hanover Road boat launch. This would be an unworthy reason to send a letter to the editor if it werenât for this fact: they were driving a big SUV towing an even larger motorboat in the middle of the road.
I guess the driver didnât realize that Hanover is, strangely enough, a two-lane road. And that those two lanes go two opposite directions.
I know, thatâs probably not too big of a detail, but when I have to slam on my brakes to avoid driving into a boat trailer thatâs in my lane, I think someone needs to say something.
So if youâre out there, driver who almost hit me with his boat that could pay for maybe six years-worth of my college tuition, try to remember that some of us donât appreciate your driving âskills.â
