Diabetes Group To Meet Sept. 15

DANBURY — The Diabetes Club of Danbury, a support group for people with diabetes, their families and friends, features a monthly guest speakers program at Danbury Hospital. The next meeting of the Diabetes Club of Danbury will take place on Monday, September 15, from 7:30 to 9 pm.

Featured guest speakers are Robert Ruxin, MD, Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine, Section of Internal Medicine and medical director of the Danbury Diabetes Club; Robert Savino, DO, Danbury Hospital Department of Medicine, chief of the Section of Endocrinology & Metabolism; Linda Martinez, RD, and Rebecca Palmer, RN, CDE. They will address “Type I Diabetes –– An Update.” Multiple vendors may have displays before the meeting.

The Diabetes Club of Danbury meets at Danbury Hospital on the third Monday of each month (except July, August, November, December, January and February). Support group meetings takes place in the back of the cafeteria located on the third floor of the South Building, from 7:30 to 9 pm. The goal of the free monthly program is to provide continuous up-to-date information and education regarding the day-to-day management of diabetes.
