Rotaryâs Annual Osborne Golf
Tourney Is September 11
With skill or luck, one golfer may drive home a new car or Harley motorcycle from this yearâs Jim Osborne Memorial Golf Classic, sponsored by the Newtown Rotary. And any interested fan with cash to donate may find themselves the owner of a personally autographed and authenticated Tiger Woods photograph.
It is all part of the fun as individuals and teams get ready to tee off September 11 at Tasua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit Kevinâs Co2
mmunity Center, the Family Counseling Center, and the Newtown Parent Connection.
Action motors of Danbury is offering a new car as the prize for a hole-in-one, and Danbury Harley-Davidson is putting up a new bike for anyone making a second hole-in-one at the event. Golf equipment, other donated prizes and additional collectable prints featuring Tiger Woods and signed by Golf Digest and Golf World photographer Stephen Szurlej will be auctioned at the postgame dinner.
Lunch and dinner are provided along with tournament registration, and the Rotary is still seeking tee sponsors and prize donations. For details, or to get in on one of the remaining open spots for golfers, call Dick Sturdevant at 740-2733 or Paul Lux at 426-8332. The entry fee is $160 per player, and registration opens at 10 am on the morning of September 11.
Nongolfers are invited to participate in the cocktail party, dinner and auction for $50 per person.
