Two Men Arrested In Burglary, Jewelry Theft
Police this week arrested two men, one local and one from New Hampshire, on felonies stemming from a May house burglary on Birch Hill Road in which more than $70,000 worth of jewelry was stolen.
Arrested on warrants were Christopher Socci, 19, of 18 Crossbrook Road, and Josh Royer, 20, of Bow, N.H., police said. Each of the men was charged with first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, and second-degree criminal mischief.
Police arrested Royer on August 21 and charged Socci on August 22. Each man was held on $50,000 bail for August 22 arraignments at Danbury Superior Court.
The two defendants allegedly broke into a house and stole the jewelry while the residents were away on vacation in May.
Some of the stolen jewelry was pawned at a Danbury pawn shop. Police used pawn shop records to link the men to the crime.
The defendants are scheduled to return to Danbury Superior Court for additional appearances.
