Remembering The 24/7 Fight
Remembering The 24/7 Fight
To the Editor:
I want to thank everyone who worked on the Relay For Life float and who marched to remind Newtown that fighting against cancer is a 24/7 fight. Our theme for 2010 is Celebrating More Birthdays because a world with less cancer is a world with more birthdays. And so symbolically, cancer survivors led us in the parade holding balloons labeled with the number of birthdays they have celebrated since their diagnosis. They know that another birthday is a gift in itself.
Thank you Newtown for the cheers you gave us as we marched by you and for your continued support in our efforts to increase awareness of cancer prevention, to support cancer survivors, and to raise money to find a cure. On Labor Day, we celebrated our passion to bring more birthdays to Newtowners, now it is time to Remember and Fight Back against cancer.
Save June 5â6 for the 2010 Relay For Life, an overnight celebration of birthdays. Register at www.relayforlife.org/newtownct; email questions to relayforlifeofnewtown@gmail.com. It is never too early to get ready to Relay; until cancer takes a break we will not either.
Together we can make a difference.
