In Winter

DERBY — The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP’s) Kellogg Environmental Center will be holding a program about Connecticut’s wildlife in winter on Saturday, December 2, from 10 to 11:30 am.

Participants will start with a hike through the grounds of the Kellogg Estate and Osbornedale State Park in search of animal tracks and other signs of life. Staff members will then help them discover how animals adapt to winter’s harsh environmental conditions.

The weather may be cold and snowy, so please dress accordingly.

The program is free to the public, but registration is required. To register or for more information, call the Kellogg Environmental Center at 734-2513, Tuesday through Saturday between 9 am and 4:30 pm.

Kellogg Environmental Center, operated by the DEP’s Office of Communications and Education, is located at 500 Hawthorne Avenue, off Route 34.
