The Stags finish the year with a 15-6-1 record, after having earned the programâs first-ever NCAA Tournament win. âIt has been a thoroughly enjoyable season for our group,â said head coach Carl Rees. âTo represent fellows like this, [Mike Troy and Mike Cunliffe] has been a privilege. It is time to reflect on our season as a whole, which has been a fantastic experience as a whole.â

Amber Butler (Bucknell University cheerleading) â The sophomore was elected by her teammates to captain the squad for the 2006-07 season. âIâm thrilled to have this opportunity as a sophomore and canât wait for the season to get into full swing,â she said. Butler will captain the squad with Lainy Generazio.

Catherine Maher (Trinity College womenâs basketball) â The senior returns as one of the top letterwinners for Trinity. A reliable shooting guard for three seasons under head coach Wendy Davis, Maher will move to the point. Last year she averaged 11.3 points per game while dishing out a total of 61 assists.

Abby Atkinson (Bucknell University swimming and diving) â At the annual Bucknell Sprint Invitational, Atkinson was third in the 100 individual medley (1:02.91), second in the 100 backstroke (1:01.48), second in the 400 individual medley (4:42.20), third in the 50 backstroke (29.25), seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.98) and helped lead the âBâ squad to a fourth-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay and the âAâ squad to a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay. In a 150-150 tie with Lafayette and a 200-100 loss to Navy, she was fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:00.94), sixth in the 200 breaststroke (2:30.68) and eighth in the 400 individual medley (4:49.13) while leading the âBâ squad to a sixth-place finish in the 200 medley relay.

Matt Pachniuk (Wheaton College menâs soccer) â The Wheaton College menâs soccer team fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday to Western New England College, 2-1 in a game played at Amherst College. The Lyons lost for just the second time in their last 14 games after beginning the season 4-3. Pachniuk completed his career as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in program history. He is Wheatonâs leader in career wins (54), shutouts (29) and minutes (7,154:13) and finished third in saves (292) and goals against average (0.86). He was named first-team All-NEWMAC.

With their 16th win of the year, the Deacons broke the school record for most wins in a season.

Diana Grimaldi (Emmanuel College womenâs volleyball team) â The No. 6 Lady Saints were swept 30-10, 30-9, 30-17 by No. 3 Amherst College in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on November 9. Grimaldi registered four kills with two assists. The Lady Saints finished 21-11, 11-0 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).

Nicole Sieber (Western Connecticut State University womenâs soccer) â Sieber registered an assist as the Lady Colonials fell, 3-2, to Middlebury College in the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament on November 12. The squad finished its season at 20-2-1 as Sieber concluded her freshman season with six goals and nine assists.

Chelsea Morin (Ursinus College womenâs soccer) â The junior forward was named Honorable Mention All-Centennial Conference for the 8-7-1 Lady Bears. She finished with two goals and two assists and this was the first time she received All-CC recognition.

Brian Miles (Montclair State menâs soccer) â The 20-1-0 Hawks defeated Wesleyan, 1-0, in the first round of the NCAA Division III tournament on November 11 (Miles had a shot in the game) before dropping a 2-1 decision in penalty kicks to Dominican University of Illinois. Milesâ attempt in the shootout was stopped by Dominican goaltender Piotr Sliwa.
