Alzheimer’s Support  Group To Meet

SOUTHBURY — Brownstein Jewish Family Service has teamed up with the Lutheran Home of Southbury to offer a support group for friends and family of people with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

The group meets on the second Monday of the month, so its next meeting will be on December 11 at 10:30 am in the library at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North.

Facilitator Edie Hardwick, program manager for The Scattering the Clouds Program of the Lutheran Home in Southbury, said, “This will be a time for people dealing with these issues to get together to meet, share concerns, get to know one another, learn how to deal with certain problems and receive support from each other.”

Scattering the Clouds, an outreach service of the Lutheran Home, offers free education and care management to families who have a loved one with dementia. For more information, call Debby Horowitz, Brownstein JFS director, at 267-3177, extension 105.
