Newtown Residents & Employees Of Local Nonprofit Honored

 BETHEL — Ability Beyond Disability recognized Kate Travis and Shannon McClary of Newtown as recipients of its 2006 Superior Practice Award.

 Travis, McClary and other honorees were chosen by their peers at the Bethel-based agency because of their commitment to Ability Beyond Disability’s consumers, the organization, and its mission.

 “These individuals stand out among their peers because they consistently go above and beyond the call of duty,” noted Tom Fanning, president and CEO of Ability Beyond Disability. “They have shown exceptional work ethic and devotion to our consumers, and truly illustrate what our agency is all about. It is employees like them that make our agency what we are today.”

 The honorees received a Certificate of Appreciation and a $100 American Express gift card, presented to them by Fanning at an employee appreciation luncheon at the Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury on November 15.
