Jonathan M. Buckens, 51, of Huntington, died December 22. Mr Buckens was born in Bridgeport and was a longtime Shelton resident.
Survivors include his wife, Leslie M. Jeremy Buckens of Huntington; his brother, William Buckens and Anne Marie Cannon of Newtown; four children, Nathan Balogh and his wife, Jennifer, of Seymour, Phillip Balogh of Norwalk, Samuel Buckens of Shelton, and Diana Buckens of Shelton; his mother, Margaret Yanosick Buckens of Shelton; two grandchildren, Jake Balogh and Drew Balogh; one niece, Alison Minor; three nephews, Jeffrey Henchcliffe, David Henchcliffe, and Leigh Buckens. He was predeceased by his father, William Buckens, Sr, and his sister, Nancy Moran.
Mr Buckens was the co-proprietor of American Machinery Company. He was a longtime member and past officer of the Machine Dealers National Association (MDNA) and a strong supporter of VARCA, a private nonprofit agency that provides work opportunities to mentally disabled adults. An avid fisherman and golfer, he was a member of the Brownson Country Club.
A memorial service was held December 27 in the Cyril F. Mullins Trumbull Funeral Home, Trumbull. Interment will be private.
