Theater Barn To Present

Reading Of New Comedy

RIDGEFIELD — The Ridgefield Theater Barn will present the next play reading in its series of unproduced works by local authors on Tuesday, January 30. The January program will feature A Loss of Color written by Timothy Ford and directed by Laura Credidio.

The staged reading series gives local playwrights an opportunity to have their work presented in a professional venue with actors reading their lines and to receive constructive feedback from the audience through a talkback session immediately following the performance.

The plot concerns Eric, who thinks he’s coming home to tell his parents he’s gay. But his family steals the spotlight before he can open his mouth. His father has Alzhiemer’s. His younger brother is schizophrenic. And his mother? She’s still Catholic.

Told with great humor and compassion, A Loss of Color is a coming out story, unfolding in the midst of family tragedy and is inspired by true events.

Actors for January 30 will be Timothy Ford as Eric, along with Joseph Etcheto, Craig David Rosen, Jeffrey Porper, Ann Hammond, Mary Draper and Margie Ferris. Cheryl Ann Boyd will serve as stage manager and moderator for the reading.

Ridgefield Theater Barn is at 37 Halpin Lane. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served. Seating is theater style for readings. Reservations are not required.

Readings begin at 7:30 and doors open at 7.
