Oil Tank Law

FAIRFIELD – A seminar will be held on the state’s new law on underground residential oil tanks at the Fairfield Public Library’s Rotary Room on Wednesday, October 20, at 7 pm.

Public Act 99-269, which became law on July 1, will make it possible for homeowners to recover some clean-up costs for those sites found to have soil or water contamination resulting from a leaking home heating oil tank. Who is eligible, what costs are covered, and how to apply will be discussed during this seminar.

The program is being sponsored by realtors Tina Veronesi and Shawn Sullivan of Century 21 Richter Real Estate and Santa Energy of Bridgeport.

Information packets will be handed out to all registered participants. Santa Energy will conduct a PowerPoint presentation. Tom Santa and Mike Santa, along with Jim Jaffe, manager of environmental services at Santa, also will be available to answer questions.
