Returning To The Library

Dan Tannenbaum, co-owner of Newtown Computer and Financial Services, will be returning to C.H. Booth Library in February to teach two computer classes; one for the true beginner and another for those interested in some more advanced topics.

The beginners’ class will be a hands-on introduction to computers designed for those new to computers. It will focus on keyboard keys, shortcuts and function keys, mouse skills, including how to use mouse buttons, double clicking, plus drag and drop.

Mr Tannenbaum will also provide an overview on the Internet and some websites, how to search for information using Biblio resources and search engines. At the end of the class there will be plenty of time for questions. This class is free but space is limited and reservations are required.

The single-session class, which will run from 9 am until noon, will be offered on Saturdays, February 10, May 5, and June 2, in the library’s lower meeting room.

Students can take the class that is most convenient for them. The class will take place in the meeting room on the first floor of the library, and students should use the back door of the library since that will be the only door open at 9 am.

The more advanced class will be offered on Saturdays, April 21, May 19, and June 16. There is a $10 fee due at the time of registration for this class, which will cover more advanced web issues, including downloading files, saving pictures, and other issues participants would like covered. This class will also meet in the meeting room of the library.
