Bereavement Class

WOODBURY — The Rev Dr Earle B. Sanford, pastor of Woodbury United Methodist Church, will offer an adult course on coping with bereavement on Thursdays from 6 to 7 pm from May 5 to June 2.

 The group will meet in the Fellowship Hall of the church, which is at the corner of Main and Church Streets. The course is free, and the public is welcome; call the church at 263-4775 to register.

Rev Sanford will lead the class using the book When Grief Breaks Your Heart by James W. Moore. The book explores what faith says about the experience of grief, including the power of faith to heal the broken-hearted.

Rev Sanford, who has had extensive experience in grief counseling, hopes the class will become a support group for the bereaved. “I see it as likely being an intergenerational group of adults who will become a support group as we address their questions,” he said.
