Bartlett Graduates From Chamber Institute
BRIDGEPORT ââ The Bridgeport Regional Business Council recently received a professional and leadership boost when Timothy Bartlett, director of membership growth and services, graduated from the Institute of Organization Management. Institute is a four-year professional development program of the US Chamber of Commerce.
 A Newtown resident, Mr Bartlett is also the executive director of the Trumbull Chamber of Commerce, an affiliate of the Business Council.
âAs a past graduate of the institute program, I am certain that the expertise and training he received will not only support daily operations at the Business Council, but most importantly serve to benefit our member base,â said Paul S. Timpanelli, president and CEO of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council. âWe are extremely proud of Mr Bartlettâs diligence and ambition toward achieving this goal.â
For the past 80 years, Institute has trained close to 1,500 chamber and association individuals annually and provides attendees with a platform designed to promote professional development. Along with core leadership enrichment, students also receive instruction in specific areas such as membership, technology, and financial management. Graduates receive a certificate in organization management and earn points toward becoming a certified chamber executive.
A graduate of UConn, Mr Bartlett attended this yearâs courses and graduation ceremonies at Villanova University; Institute is offered nationally in five regions. Noted for his âcommitment to lifelong learning,â Mr Bartlett also received the Arthur J. Lumsden Memorial Scholarship, named after the former Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce CEO, from the Connecticut Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
Since joining the Bridgeport Regional Business Council in 1998 as director of membership growth and services, Mr Bartlett has headed membership retention and recruitment projects such as Memberfest and BRBC Ambassadors, in addition to his role as executive director of the BRBCâs Trumbull affiliate.
âTim Bartlett is the fifth member of our staff to graduate from Institute,â said Mr Timpanelli, âThis dedication to professionalism places the BRBC at the forefront of the chamber industry.â
The Bridgeport Regional Business Council is a 1,000-member voluntary organization of businesses within the Bridgeport region working together to create an environment for business expansion, retention and recruitment that will result in jobs and tax base growth.
