Chance Or Creation: Where Did We Come From?
Chance Or Creation: Where Did
We Come From?
On Wednesday, July 11, Newtown Christian Fellowship (NCF) will host a free lecture on the origin of the universe and of life, comparing scientific theories with the biblical account in Genesis. The lecture will be presented by Dr Mark Ritter and will be held between 7 and 8 pm in the Alexandria room of Edmond Town Hall.
âWe want to share this alternative to evolutionary thinking with the residents of Newtown and its surrounding communities to raise awareness of what the Bible teaches on this critical subject,â said Jack Mills, a spokesperson for NCF. âThereâs growing cynicism in our culture today regarding the Genesis account of creation with little or no room for debate on the subject. We owe it to our community to bring this information forward since it has been swept under the rug by the scientific community.â
Dr Ritter, a resident of Connecticut and member of NCF, stated, âThe tone of the presentation will not be confrontational, rather it will be a simple attempt, based on recent scientific discoveries, to both expose common myths surrounding evolution and the origin of the universe and to show that belief in the Bible is not anti-intellectual.â
Dr Ritter is a physicist and graduate of Yale University. He holds 20 US patents and is the author of numerous scientific publications
âThere is a growing awareness in the scientific community that our origins cannot be explained by the operation of random chance over billions of years,â Dr Ritter added.
