Fireside defeated CMC Quality Concrete, 17-3, as Ali Cordova went 5-for-5, Jeanne Sampson was 4-for-5 and Courtney Waters was 4-for-5. Cordova and Katie Barry sparkled in the field and Anna Christopher did a great job at the mound. For CMC, there were some great defensive moves in the outfield as Jeanne Carney was 3-for-3, Michelle Schettino was 3-for-4 and Stephanie Pinto was 2-for-2.
Newtown Exxon defeated Grooming Finalists, 9-2, behind a two-two, two-run performance from Rachel Dargenio. Carrie Warner had two hits and Julia Truchsess had three hits and scored two runs. For Grooming, Margaret Paniccia held her own in right center as Trish McCusker played well in the outfield and got herself on base to score a run. Sue Gouveia was 3-for-3, also scoring a run.
In other play, Tre Ragazze defeated Flagpole Reality, 11-9.
