A Benefit For Mike

To the Editor:

On Sunday, July 1, there was a Poker Run and Party fundraiser held for the benefit of Mike Leonard, who is recovering from injuries he received in a motorcycle accident. The event was a great success.

On behalf of the many friends of Mike who worked together to organize the event, I would like to thank the following businesses: AutoTech Town Service, Miss Em’s, Gregory’s Restaurant, Monroe Fire Department, Naramoore Construction, Dodgingtown Liquor, Dunkin’ Donuts (Queen Street), Carminuccio’s Pizza, Pensive Concepts, Salon Michele, J&E Landscape, Newtown Car Wash, CT Catch Basin, Newtown Printing, Blue Moon Septic, Chaz and AJ of WPLR, Marcus Dairy, Saturn of Danbury, Danbury Harley-Davidson, and one great band — The Violators.

Enormous thanks go out to the many friends and volunteers who worked tirelessly and gave generously to make this day a success.  Finally, I have to thank all of the kind and generous participants who came out for, in the words of Mike Long (volunteer extraordinaire), “a great ride for a great guy.”
