Teikyo Post Elects President

WATERBURY — The Teikyo Post University Board of Trustees has elected Dr Jon Jay DeTemple as president of the university.

With 25 years’ experience in higher education to guide him, he is taking Teikyo Post into a new century with a vision of the Waterbury institution as a “university on the move.”

“We’re at a point where we can really take off,” said Dr DeTemple, who served as vice president for administration and chief business officer at TPU before assuming his new role as president. “We’re building on our strengths, including recent record increases in enrollment and program offerings that meet the needs of students and businesses, such as environmental science, MIS and criminal justice.”

Prior to arriving at TPU about 15 months ago, he was vice president for administration and chief financial officer at Mitchell College in New London; president of the Genoa Art Institute, Genoa, N.Y.; and acting president, executive vice president and vice president for administration at the SUNY College of Technology at Alfred.
