Borst Has No Mandate
Borst Has No Mandate
To the Editor:
The IPN put Mr Borst into office so that they could control the town. What are the IPNâs real motives? What are their dark side motives? Why did they choose a person who clearly does not have the capacity to run a town as complex as Newtown? It is now apparent that Mr Borst has no mandate, which was clear from his narrow victory. Furthermore, he has proven himself to be an ineffective head of town government. After all, he could not control the first vote critical vote of Board of Selectmen. Newtown will now drift aimlessly as the wind blows from the next two years.
Technically, Mr Borstâs ethics problems are over. However, the 3 to 1 vote clearly indicates that Mr Borstâs ethics are in question. Mr Borstâs euphoria seems to stem from the fact that he dodged a bullet.
Since Mr Borstâs ethics are in question, it also calls into question the ethics of the company Mr Borst keeps, namely the IPN and Independents who masquerade as Democrats and Republicans, some recently elected.
Finally, Mr Mangiafico seems to have distanced himself from Mr Borst as a person who makes decisions based on the merits of the situation and for the good of Newtown. We can only hope that he can withstand the accusations and insinuations because he is not being âan IPN team player.â
