Opens New Southbury Branch

Newtown Savings Bank recently opened its 12th branch office in Southbury at 1450 Southford Road. The new branch is the bank’s second in Southbury, and is located at the intersection of Routes 188 and 67, near the Oxford town line.

The bank’s original Southbury branch, which was established in 1969, is at 3 Pomperaug Office Park, on Main Street South.

“We are very pleased to have found such an ideal location for our newest branch, which will also serve Oxford and parts of Middlebury. Maintaining two branches in Southbury demonstrates our commitment to serving the Southbury and Oxford communities,” said Jim Cotter, senior vice president of retail banking.

The state-of-the art branch was designed to serve both businesses and consumers with many features, including a coin counter, night depository, and a drive-up ATM. In addition, the branch drive-up opens at 7:30 am Monday through Friday to better serve morning commuters, and has some later evenings and Saturday hours as well.

Newtown Savings Bank, a mutual savings bank, was founded in 1855. Headquartered in Newtown, the community bank has more than $800 million in assets. For more information call 203-262-8175 or visit www.nsbonline.com.
