SHERMAN – The White Silo Gallery is presenting the second annual showing of “A Thousand Words” from September 7through September 23. The show is a collaboration of the works of photographers Cynthia O’Connor and Marc Isolda, and painters Alisyn Hamilton and Walter Von Egidy. The show will also feature painted cards and stationery by Jackie Coote.

An opening reception is planned for Sunday, September 9, from 2 to 5 pm.

The photography “City and Country, Opposites Attract” represents the juxtaposition of the urban energy and rural serenity. The work of Mr Isolda and Ms O’Connor covers the terrain from California to Maine, from New York City to Los Angeles, in color and black and white.

Mr Isolda, from Bridgewater, has been a professional photographer for 30 years. His equestrian photography is known throughout New England, although he is best known for his panoramas. Mr Isolda works in digital and has mastered the science to complement his artistry. He is best known for his panoramas.

Ms O’Connor, of Sherman, works in film and digital. Her work captures both the serenity and the irony of the world around us. Her sense of humor is revealed in much of her work. Her latest work includes some unique perspectives with light and reflections.

Mr Isoloda and Ms O’Connnor formed this consortium four years ago and have had over 20 shows in the New England area. They photograph the annual hunt season of Fairfield County Hounds. Their work has been featured in many of the regional newspapers and magazines.

Walter Von Egidy of Bridgewater has sought to create a personal universe through his work in enamel and oil, as well as through a series of independent films. His works are primarily surrealistic.

Alisyn Hamilton has been the art teacher at the Sherman School for 15 years and works mainly in acrylic and oil. The New England landscape is strongly represented in her work.

Jackie Coote is a self taught artist who mainly works in watercolors. This will be her third show at the White Silo. Ms Coote designs and customizes hand painted note cards and stationery in any motif desired. She is a member of Candlewood League of Artists (CLA) and also of The Society of Creative Artists of Newtown (SCAN).

Included in her presentation will be small matted paintings ready to frame.

The White Silo, on Route 37, is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm. Call 860-355-0271 for additional information.
