Close Call On Queen Street

Dear Commissioners:

I recently saw a “close call” in front of My Place Restaurant on Queen Street. Three Middle School students narrowly escaped injury crossing the road. With four lanes of traffic and the amount of vehicle interaction, it is hard to see students of smaller stature crossing the road.

Looking back on the sequence of events, it would be difficult to find fault, except for the lack of an electronic crosswalk. I am strongly recommending that one be installed. The Police Department said that you are the decision-maker on these issues. How soon can this happen?
