SOUTHBURY â Songs from five beloved Broadway shows will kick off the month on Tuesday, October 2, when pianist Jeanne Hinkson of Woodbury and mezzo soprano Helen Falcone of Southbury appear at the Love & Knishes Lunch Program of the Federation-Jewish Communities of Western Connecticut. All area adults are invited to enjoy lunch at noon followed by the duoâs beautiful music, featuring both songs and piano interludes from The King and I, Kiss Me Kate, Kismet, Fiddler on the Roof, and Anything Goes. Programs take place at the Walzer Family Jewish Community Campus, 444 Main Street North.
Musical Love & Knishes programs continue throughout the month, resuming on October 16 when pianist Mark Focarile will return to play classical, jazz, and original compositions.
The October 23 program will feature singer-guitarist Kayte Devlin Batter, who has won awards in Nashville for her songs and writing in all genres of music. She will perform cabaret and show tunes as well as her original music.
The October 30 program, âWith a Song in Your Heart,â showcases the musical memories of yesterday as Arlene Beck plays favorite tunes on the accordion and piano.
