Bird Walks Continuing

On Bi-Monthly Basis

DERBY — The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection’s Kellogg Environmental Center will continue its bimonthly Saturday bird walks through the winter season. The public is invited to join Tom Sharp on a leisurely trek through Osbornedale State Park in search of winter birds.

Upcoming walks will be held on Saturday, February 5, and Saturday, February 19. Each walk will last from 9 am until 11 am.

The walks are great for all levels of birders, including beginners. Participants are urged to bring binoculars and field guides; a limited number of each will also be available for loan.

The program meets at the Kellogg Environmental Center. No registration is required and donations are welcome. For more information, contact the center at 734-2513. The center, operated by the DEP’s Office of Communications and Education, is at 500 Hawthorne Avenue (Route 34) Derby.
