The Snack Shack at Blue & Gold Stadium is now under the guidance of the Newtown High School culinary arts program.

Under the direction of chef Brian Neumeyer, the culinary arts students are preparing for the Friday, October 5, varsity football game between Newtown and Stratford and are promising a specialty menu.

“We feature some traditional stadium food, such as cheeseburgers and hot dogs,” said Renee Rushefski, “but we are bringing in weekly specials and some staple choices such as The Hawk.”

The Hawk is the signature sandwich of grilled chicken breast brushed with homemade barbecue sauce, topped with melted Monterey jack cheese and crisp bacon on a Portuguese roll. Other choices will include fresh pizzas, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks and crisp onion rings.
