Newtown Student To Sing At Lincoln Center

Newtown resident Margaret Morrissey, a junior at Lauralton Hall in Milford, will sing at the Lincoln Center in New York City on Tuesday, December 11, with Lauralton’s Concert Choir and Advanced Vocal Ensemble.

The holiday concert, sponsored by New York-base Perform America, Inc, will showcase five elite high school choirs from Connecticut and New Jersey. Lauralton was invited to participate because of the national attention the school received last spring, when its Advanced Vocal Ensemble and Choir were chosen to represent Connecticut at America’s 400th Anniversary celebration in Jamestown, Va.

The concert starts at 7 pm at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall, at the corner of Columbus Avenue and 65th Street. Tickets are $30, and can be purchased from Lauralton Music Director Margy Sargent at 203-877-2786.
