Joseph P. Groholy, 89, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Josephine (Polvere) Groholy, died September 1 at Bridgeport Health Care Center.
He is survived by a daughter, Lorraine DeJulio, and her husband, Richard, of Newtown.
Mr Groholy was a lifelong Bridgeport resident and retired from the Remington Arms Company after 25 years of service.
In addition to his beloved wife and daughter, he is survived by another daughter, Linda Granata Lawton of Dallas; two cherished grandsons, Michael P. Granata of Dallas, and Joseph P. DeJulio of Newtown; a sister, Pauline Macklow of Fairfield; nine nephews; 10 nieces; five godchildren; a sister-in-law, Peggy Groholy of Fairfield; a brother-in-law, John Polvere and his wife, Doreen, of Southbury; and a sister-in-law, Sylvia Polvere of Chatham, N.J. Mr Groholy was predeceased by his son, Paul J. Groholy, his brother, William Groholy, and four sisters, Verona Seeley, Katherine Groholy, Margaret Slesinsky, and Ethel Bennett.
Funeral services were held from the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull, and in St Andrew Church with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment was in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
