Korean War Veteran
John E. Kozak, Jr, 75, previously of Bethel and Newtown, died December 23 in Danbury Hospital. Mr Kozak was the husband of the late Mary (Romard) Kozak. He was born in Westport on December 31, 1931, a son of John and Elsie (Pierron) Kozak.
Mr Kozak served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime employee of the Fabric Fire Hose Co. in Sandy Hook and then was a custodian at Newtown Middle School for many years.
Mr Kozak is survived by his two children, John Kozak III of Denham Springs, La., and Joan Hudson of Lakewood, Colo.; a brother, George Kozak of Newtown; three sisters, Alice Boylan of Waterbury, Margaret Keeler of South Carolina, and Kathleen Harris of Minnesota; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment in St Rose Cemetery will be held in the spring. There are no calling hours.
